If i wanted to go big and put a new engine in my 89 sidekick what could i put in? worst come to worst ill put a new stock one in but might as well see how big i can go.

There's alot of choice out there...if you are running the 8 valve 1.6 you can just throw another one of those in, or you can upgrade to the 16 valve engine. It's likely that a 1.8L DOHC from a 4-door Sport would also bolt right in. I also read a writeup by a guy who swapped a 2.0L from a 99+ Vitara/Tracker. He needed to make some custom motor mounts and had a few small issues, but it seemed like a fairly straightforward swap. I'm not sure but I have heard of a VW diesel swap too, but that might just be for the Samurai.

what kinda changes would i have to make to put a 3.8 buick engine? that what get-r-done pretty nicely
