why would you want to rewire a whole vehicle. Is there something wrong with it now?

Get a gm cs144 alternator. Most are rated above 140 amps from the factory. stay away from a 1 wire setup.

stay away from a 1 wire setup.

I was wondering why stay away from one wire setup? I don't know much about them, curious why the one wire setup is should be avoided?

I don't claim to be an expert with alternators but basically a one wire setup is intended to be a just a crude charging system while a 3 wire setup is designed as a maintance system for the entire electrical system and will maintain a more precise voltage.

Good info here:

rewiring the whole truck seems like such a waste of time and money, since the factory already spent so much money engineering perfectly good lighting and turn signal systems it seems silly to change it all.

and if you're looking for an aftermarket harness that will directly plug in, you wont know any more than a factory wiring diagram will tell you anyway.

I used to hear a lot "how much to rewire my whole car?"

thousands of dollars, but really theres no reason to replace every wire in a car, the only thing that really ever needed to be done was "reinstal" the wiring harness properly, repairing all those hanging wires under the dash, replacing corroded connections etc.

i am rethinking it may be getting some fusable links and some aux fuse blocks just clean the hell out of whats going on did many tests & troublehsoots today many of my problems stem in the toyota gauges need all aftermarket for proper readings. I would hate to kill something due to having not proper readings on the gauges
