Serious ********* help needed here

Today was going to do a flush of the block rad and put new fluids in oil change etc...

Well it seems the oil flter on the chevy block is seized to say the least....

It is tighter than anything i have dealt with, whoever did this needs to be kicked in the head!
Never have had an issue like this with any vehicle i have ever owned! At the moment i have a couple options left going to try later on after i get the tools but wondering if anyone has ever had a oil filter shed in half on them while taking it off? I have enough left to get at with one of those universal clamping tools if it has the capasity to remove whast left of the filter off my block! If it doesn't work im completely f***d like serious the engine willhave to be removed unless somone has some tool that i don't know exists...

I have had that happen to me before. I had to completely remove the shredded oil filter and then heat up the threaded part of the oil filter. I used a hammer an chisel to loosen the rest.

Total bitch to do but i was getting paid.:laugh

use a strap wrench or oil filter wrench, it will come off with the right ammount of force applied.
if that fails hammer a long skinny metal object(screwdriver, pipe, whatever) right through the filter and turn it.
is this a chevy 350? unbolt the oil cooler(part that filter screws onto) off the block, and throw it out. buy a new cooler and filter.
it will come off, youre just not trying hard enough

Beat the crap out of it and it will come off.
A hammer and a chisel on the rim.
One hit and its loose!

Hammer and chisel - just take your time with it and it should come off

if you get it off and never want to deal with something like this again look into those k&n oil filters, they have a 1" or so nut built onto the end, so you can use a big wrench to turn it.

crappy tire saved me with this wrench thing could only imagine what this would be like on a trail somewhere...

Now to attack the rad and wiring mess think i got a starter solonoid problem or groundin issues in the am

Frams suck i got to say after seeing the inside of them

yea i got one of those plier lookin things they work pretty good. kms also has a tool that goes into a ratchet, and kind of spring clamps the sides of the filter. if you think that plier rocks, you should try that

Well im glad my hand is healing now from the meat grinder session i had with the exhaust block and ripped up oil filter...... Started the beast today new fluids and its so so sweet sounding just love the looks people give when they hear it...:wtf:

My ground off the battery is really beaten up and too short/as well really thin not sure if that and the no grounding from block to frame to body is making more problems but the voltage gauge i hooked up today says im getting 15-16-18 all over the map/ depends on what the rpms were at/
So i got some more trouble shooting to do!
Does not like to start for me could be so many little things.......
I could also be needing a new alternator at this point thinking thats why the last battery was bone dead?

But the starter did push the beast over today by itself with out the booster pack b a r e l y but that was only when i grabbed a mitfull of the short ground and kinked it off the alternator post that it was attached to immediately the power surged and it sounded like a new battery.... So the fun begins again
