yea i know bush is a twat. this will just give him another excuse to start a war with someone else. kinda scary now because we KNOW these guys got nukes now, and if bush does anything **** will hit the fan. apparently them koreans make a good bomb though. the u.s' that blew up hiroshima was 12.5 kilotons. they said the ones the koreans just tested could be up to 15kilotons

The US has far bigger nukes than that. And far more of them then you would want to beleive. Bush will talk the talk with regards to Korea but, just like Iran, he will never actually do anything.

Pretty funny how Koreans are not alowed to have what US (and us) have.
I don't like it either, but WTF?
Why is it OK for us but not others. On a flip side: how about this concept:
We have democracy, let's make sure Korea isn't alowed. :laugh
They got nukes now, let's make sure ours are faster...
And before anyone occuses me of being ignorant, I know what the "official" unhappines is: "testing"...
rigth..... we're unhappy because they tested.... that's not alowed....

I think we're unhappy because NORTH Korea is run by a psychotic dictatorial tyrant who would think nothing of dropping an A-bomb on SOUTH Korea - or anyplace else they could hit.
Supposedly we in the enlightened western democracies have enough safeguards in place to prevent anyone from randomly atomizing someplace with one of ours.
None have been used against a 'target' since Nagasaki.
Even the Russians weren't nuts enough to actually use one.
Can't say the same for N. Korea or Iran.

Funny you mentioned the Americans and Nagasaki.
I think America was run by a lot less lunatic leader then, and look what happened.
You ever wonder if those who are not "with" Americans are simply thinking of him (Bush) and "us" the same we think of N Korea? It's all in the propaganda. They have theirs and we have ours.
I wouldn't trust western propaganda more then any other propaganda. Isn't it the reason we actually suported invading Iraq? You know, the WMD they "found".
I even believed they existed.
As I said earlier, I don't like it, but we are tasting our own medicine...

Um, I thought Canada DIDN'T support invading Iraq. The US was giving the Liberals flack for it, I seem to recall.
Maybe Weapons of Mass Destruction was code for oil.

I meant - as a public, a lot of people were convinced there were WMDs there.

He, he. Ironically, oil is a WMD! Didn't think about it in that way. Good one.

I think the country was divided, and I saw it as the majority thought that we shouldn't back up the US.
I know I never thought we had a place "over there". Send Bush over and let him clean up his own damn mess (and I physically mean Bush, not his troops).

You're right about the loony leader: Truman was the sanest Pres the US ever had; GBW is just out for revenge for his daddy who screwed up in '92. Chaney & Co are in it for the massive profits generated by high oil prices.
But the US is still saner than N.Korea. Bush will be out in 2008. Same can't be said for your average dictator - who answers to no one.
These nutcases around the world never heard Oppenheimer's declaration after Hiroshima: "Now we're all sons of bitches."
Japan is the only country that really appreciates the nuclear threat.

I don't know what the fuss is about. N Korea has been very clear about its goal of developing nuke capability and its ballistic missile program and the US must have been aware of it for a very long time. In fact, in 2003 N Korea announced they possessed nuclear weapons.
Kim Jong-Il has been sabre rattling for a long time but Bush is clearly more interested in the middle east oil fields. That's what made his declaration of invading Iraq because of WMD to be so ridiculous. Saddam could target Israel with his SCUDs. Jong-Il could, some say, reach Hawaii, American soil, with one of his missiles AND he openly declared that he had nukes. So Bush goes after Saddam.
Obviously it wasn't about WMDs.

North Korea is starving....
The scary part isn't that they'll use the nukes, it's that they'll sell the nukes.
