Don't know what to say....saved the taxpayers the cost of a trial, but if you read down it says "I suspect the only reason 110 rounds was all that was fired was that's all the ammunition they had," ...... "We were not going to take any chance of him shooting back."

all 9 officers fired all the ammo they had.....don't shoot a cop......shouldn't be an issue...

I believe the correct procedure when surrounded by 9 armed SWAT members is as follows:

1) drop everything

2) raise your hands in the air

3) piss your pants so they know you are serious.

yea i read about that in the paper.. he shot the officer excution style. hit him in the leg then went up point black to the temple. but i think it said they hit him 90 times not 68.. i may be wrong.

good for him, thats down in my parents neck of the woods.

I coulda told ya as soon as he ran into the woods he wouldn`t come out alive, people should take note..

if your a black man don`t shoot a white guy then run into the woods with 20 other white guys chasing you. :laugh

total of 500 officers, 110 swat members answered the call for this. split up in groups of tens. they found him like in a hole or something hiding. and he went to grab the gun(the one he stole from the officer he killed) and they unloaded on him. he was really close to where the officer was found too. i geuss he knew what he had coming for him

LAKELAND, Fla. — Officers fired 110 rounds of ammunition at the man suspected of killing a sheriff's deputy, killing the suspect, according to an autopsy released by the sheriff's office.

According to Autopsy?

They needed an Autopsy to figure out that he died of 110 bullet holes?

hey autopsies are good, they can tell you which one of those 68 chunks of lead killed him. or so it seems when you watch csi and ncis *L* :p

one for the good guys????

2 ppl are dead... 1 is an officer who was killed execution style to the side of the head. and 1 is the killer that pulled an officers gun on a bunch of swat members so they killed him... how many times they shot him does not make it one for the good guys

I think the autopsy is procedure in any incident such as this...

Sure, might have saved some trial costs, but I bet the investigation for this whole thing will cost a crapload any ways...

How come the cop-related death in Houston isn't getting this coverage? The public has a right to know what went in there (RCMP shot a guy that was being released from custody, in the back of the head, and the cameras had no tape in them, which is against procedure, but I would imagine shooting folks in the back of the head isn't procedure either...). I'm all for cops and all (love a man in uniform...), but that is a very suspicious incident and it deserves investigation by an OUTSIDE body...

I think the atopsy involved putting the person back together just so they can be 100% sure it was the right guy they shot 110 times :p
