It will likely let go when you are on the trail or most need the vehicle.
Spend the 120 and do it right the first time.

Price out an engine replacement/repair if you leave it...makes the head gasket look like cheep insurance for your engine.

are engines and seals made and designed out of cans of goop?
no theyre made out of freakin metal and plastics. a can of goo is just a can of goo.... maybe it will plug it up for a bit but now you have a time bomb and it will let go.
its only good for people trying to rip others off: like dumping it in their blown engine so it will run when someone comes to see it then 2 weeks later its fugged

hahahah i know i know i should go buy the gasket... buttttt... im lazy and i dont care about this truck. ill beat on it for a year or whatever until it dies then give it to someone. the guy at meridian auto parts told me they sell so many of these things to little dealerships who buy broken cars.. fix em up for cheap and sell them to unsuspecting ppl. f*cking dealerships

yeah fix em up cheap by putting cans of **** in them and using concrete patch on the bodies...
oh and 4x4's are the most unsafe, seeing as how they always need to be inspected:rolleyes:

just replace the gasket you lazy buttmunch! if you break down infront of me on the portmann ill flip you over the side

I just got this stuff called Dike (ha ha, dike) that's supposed to do the same thing, but in my case I think it is the rad that's leaking. It's supposed to be better then Barsleak, but practically no on has heard of it. I figure for the price of it, I might as well try it rather then buy a new aluminum rad if I don't have to (although I know it's just putting off the inevitable, but I'm willing to live in this happy place outside reality for a while longer...).

you are likely to clog your rad up by dumping goo in it!!!!!
this means, youre even at more of a disadvantage, youll overheat even easier now and wreck your engine. just save yourself the trouble and do things the right way, before you cost yourself an engine rebuild

This stuff is liquid, not goo or powder. And don't you think if that is what happens that the company would be bankrupt by now d/t people suing them for false advertising or destruction of property? And not to mention the reputation of the places selling it.

i am an engine mechanic, not a lawyer i dont know if somebody could sue them or not.
i dont believe in magic when it comes to repairing one of the vital parts of a vehicle, the engine.
theres only one way to fix something, and that is the right way, not with chemicals powders liquids goo and so on.

sure it will hold up for a while, but it can clog up your radiator, wreck your water pump, clog water passages.... add all those repairs up, and that new radiator is starting to look like a good deal

But you are a mechanic, I mean what would you know eh?

I guess that is why these companies can stay in business.

Some people think some "magic medicine" will fix mechanical defects. :laugh

I didn't say it would fix it, now did I. I'm well aware it's a temporary fix for a problem that will eventually have to be dealt with. Like I said, I'm quite content putting off the inevitable.

never said i was, i did say its an unreliable temporary solution that if used longterm will cause damage, and should be fixed properly instead of procrastinating.
you tried it and it worked for two weeks. thats fine, because you didnt try and rely on it as a longterm solution. i see nothing wrong with that because you actually intended to replace the head!
